What documents do i need to take to the interview?
You may also be asked for a passport photo if the digital photo you uploaded for your DS-160 is not adequate. It should measure 5cm x 5cm and there is a booth in the Embassy. We will provide the other list of documents to take with you nearer the appointment date. Australians will need to pay an extra 25€ at the interview due to an agreement between their country and the USA.
What is the quickest way to get my passport back after the interview?
Same day issuance is not possible, you may plead with the interviewer at the time but normally your passport must be shipped to an address in the same country. The quickest option is always to remain and collect the passport yourself.
Do i have to wait in the city of interview or can i go home and wait for the visa there?
You can leave after your interview and fly back to the boat or to your home. Just let the immigration oficial know you will not be leaving your passport there as you need it for travel. Once at your destination please courier your passport back to the embassy (do not use your national postal service, such as Royal Mail in the UK, please be sure to use an express courier company such as DHL, TNT, FEDEX, etc. so you will receive tracking info and proof of delivery at the Embassy). As the Embassy will only ship passports to addresses in the same country, please let us know your plans, in advance. The delivery address for your passport return cannot be changed after interview, this needs to be registered prior.
How do i check the status of my visa?
See the below link to check the status, choose NON-IMMIGRANT VISA. There are four status readings – IN ADMINSTRATIVE PROCESSING, APPROVED, REFUSED, and ISSUED. Once issued, your passport will be shipped to the designated delivery address and should arrive within 1-3 days. CEAC
What is the success rate, can you guarantee i will be issued the visa i need?
We are not guaranteeing visa issuance, we can guarantee an appointment at some point but not necessarily on your preferred date. Ultimately the Embassy decides what their priority is for assigning appointments. In the past 2 years at various points Afghan refugees, Ukrainians escaping the humanitarian crises and those seeking medical attention in the USA have all had priority over seafarers. We have 100% success rate of visa issuance for those attending appointments. The exceptions will be if crew do not follow our recommendations or who have undisclosed previous criminal charges, visa refusals, deportations, etc.
